IMPORTANT ! IMPORTANT ! IMPORTANT !
Thank you for joining Oceantemp SST, the premier choice for NE Charter Boat Captains!
PLEASE READ this short message in order to save yourself any unnecessary aggravation regarding some possible simple issues that may arise.
BEFORE YOU SIGN IN , please make "" 100% "" certain that your username and password are correct and spelled *EXACTLY* as originally entered when you signed up for the first time being sure to follow EXACT UPPER and LOWER CASE lettering as originally entered.
Misspelled or erroneous user or password entries are the number one cause of login issues and can result in temporary server LOCK-OUTS to the NETWORK CONNECTION that you used to try and log in with and were rejected.
If you cant get in after 4 try's please "STOP" and double check your login information. (Please be aware that the user / pass system is "case sensitive") After checking you still cannot gain access after the 5 th try please "STOP" trying to log in and just give us a call OR try different NETWORK (like your home, or office or outside wifi). The server security, If activated, blocks the "NETWORK" that the failed attempts are coming in on. It does NOT block the username and password! To test this just go to another NETWORK.
Secondly, If you ever FORGET or LOOSE your username or password, there is a space on the members login page https://www.oceantemp.com/login.shtml directly beneath each Regions login button. Depending on which region you signed up for, simply enter your email address under your Regions button and the information will be sent to you automatically & Immediately. No need to wait for us.

BLACK OCEAN WITH WHITE COASTLINE AND NO TEMPERRATURE CHART DISPLAYED (This is a quick permanent fix in under a minute).
ONLY KNOWN TECHNICAL ISSUE... IF YOU SEE "NO" SST CHART, JUST A BLACK SCREEN / WHITE COASTLINE ---> If after login you see no SST chart but just a *black ocean* with a *white coastline* simply do the following to fix and Prevent that from happening again. This is basically the only known issue that sometimes happens with our service and can be cured Permanently.
1. "Close out" of any message that reads " GeoLocation Denied"
2. Open the control panel (small rectangular button on upper R corner of screen)
3. Open the small box that reads "ZONE"
4. Click anywhere in that tiny drop down menu box even if its blank
5. After the map appears, Go back to the "control panel" and select "Save as Default Area" on the control panel. (This will prevent this issue from happening again).
WHAT IS GEOLOCATION... Browsers and devices these days usually ask you If you want the browser or device to track or locate your position by GPS and other means. Its up to YOU if you want to allow this on your browser or device. If you allow location permission and have Geo location turned "ON" on your browsers settings then you will see a small Boat icon on your chart exactly where your "sign in" device is located at that time. This boat icon can also be seen while out at sea by GPS without phone service at wherever your location is on the ocean. (see the Information Section in the Members areas for more info on this SST chart GPS tracking feature)
Having this feature turned "OFF" on your device may sometimes prompt a message that reads "Geolocation Denied" If so, just close out the message either way, just ignore it however it needs to be ON if using real time GPS Tracking while offshore.
Please note... Chlorophyll/Ocean color shots can be found in the "same" folder as SST charts. They look a bit different color wise and are marked " OCEAN COLOR" on displayed land mass. They are usually time stamped between 1600hrs and 1900 hrs and do not display temperatures on the cursor information bubble
----------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT??? YOU HAVE AN INTERACTIVE CONTROL PANEL ON THE CHART INTERFACE... I DIDENT KNOW THAT !!!
YES! The ""CONTROL PANEL"" button is a SMALL button, located on the upper right hand corner of the chart will display all available features of the interactive map functions where you can save way points and mark and save favorite locations on the charts or change lat lon formats. All features are basically self explanatory.
Lastly, we have a section called the "INFORMATION SECTION" located ONLY in the MEMBERS AREA after you Login .... look for the "information Center" NAVIGATION button in the left hand bank of navigation buttons.

NEW PRODUCT ADDED FOR 2026 !!!
A new product has been added for 2026. Its named 12 or 24 HOUR " MULTI SATELLITE MERGED IMAGE" and similarly labeled on the posted chart. Its a compilation of data from EIGHT separate satellites over the last 12 to 24 hours. This compilation can be useful when more recent shots are mostly cloudy and we will use it when its better then the most recent satellite passes in regards to cloud cover. These updates will look just like our usual chart updates but will be labeled as Multi Satellite Merged Data Images clearly on the chart. This addition should significantly help reduce the amount of mostly cloud covered charts that drive is crazy.
----------------------------------------------------------------
SST DATA SET POSTING SCHEDULE CHANGES STARTED IN 2025
Starting back in 2025, a late morning SST update (usually posted between 10 am and noon) was, most days, be eliminated "UNLESS" ---> there was NO SST overnight update (overnights are usually posted between 1 and 3 AM) the night before -OR- the overnight posting was mostly cloud obscured -OR- if for some reason there will be no early evening SST posting that day. (early evening updates are "usually" posted between 4 PM and 8PM), -OR- if we feel its important to provide an update.
That said, the schedule will be "generally" as follows ---> First SST posting will roughly be between 1am and 2 am The second SST posting will be the early evening posting, roughly between 4pm and 8 pm. An ocean Color update will be posted anywhere between 10 pm and midnight each night (if data is available).
Any Further or EXTRA Updates in addition to this schedule will be solely at our discretion. As always, everything is dependent on suitable weather conditions and subject to change at our discretion.
Thank You
Oceantemp SST.
