Some members are having a problem opening the oceanview set-up file after it is downloaded. We checked the master copy here and it is fine on our end, and 100% functioning

The problem seems to be that the file is being corrupted during the downloading process to the users computer. The exact error states "corrupt file-please get another copy" It appears that this file is not complete and parts are being left behind when this happens

We had no problem using Microsoft Internet explorer however when we used our Netscape browser we did in deed have the same problem. So it really depends on what you are using at this point

The only advise we can give at this time is to switch browsers and try another. If that does not work, we recommend turning off your virus protection during the download and turning it back on immediately afterwards.

If you are using an AOL browser try a non AOL browser. Full file size should be 636 Kb and nothing less. Our corrupt file was showing 608KB in size.

We will work on finding some answers to this problem and if need be we will package it in a self extracting zip file as a last resort. If you find out an exact cause to this problem please let us know.

If you cannot, under any circumstances, get the file to work after downloading... let us know and we will send you a copy via e-mail. The problem though here is that once you download chart files to use with the program they may be corrupted as well until you find what it is on your computer that is causing the problem.

Thank You
Fred
