The weather conditions over Florida and the MA region have become so poor relative to cloud cover that we will be using composite images whenever appropriate in lieu of individual satellite passes which are over 85% cloud obscured.
SST composite images are a collection of several days satellite data combined into one image. These types of data images are very useful when cloud conditions continuously obscure individual satellite images. Temperatures on these images are calculated to an average mean over the time period the data was collected. We feel that these images will be more useful then completely cloud masked individual images that display very little data. |
